Grobank cheques policy aligns with banking trends

In line with the many South African banks currently phasing out cheques as a means of payment, Grobank will be exiting cheque issuance and receipt by 31 December 2020.

Grobank cheques may therefore not be used for encashment or payments from this date, and we encourage Grobank customers to inform their clients and/or creditors of this development.

No new chequebooks may be ordered from 1 October 2020, and we urge customers to discuss alternative payment methods with relationship managers. These include EFT, card payments, CPS, internet banking, bulk cash orders and SWIFT payments.
